Catholic Residential Services is a dynamic agency that is constantly striving to improve to meet the needs of those we support. Working as a team, the individual, the family, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, and Catholic Residential Services develop and deliver a personalized plan which ensures and enhances:  

	- 	Health, safety, personal care, and other daily living needs
	- 	Money, benefits, and resource management
	- 	Social and recreational interests
	- 	Personal and spiritual interests

Activities

We think that everyone needs a broad social base. We enable each person to try a variety of activities. We encourage the people we serve to become involved in programs specifically for people with disabilities such as Starfire or Special Olympics as well as participating actively in their larger community. This includes going to Reds Games, basketball games at local high schools, attending Broadway and Cincinnati Ballet productions, and visiting Cincinnati icons like the zoo or aquarium. We also collaborate with local high schools such as St. Xavier and Mother of Mercy to attend sporting events and holiday parties with their students.

Our goal is to make their disabilities a consideration, not a hindrance to their participation in events. To guarantee this we have created several programs by collaborating with other organizations. By partnering with the YMCA we created Adaptive Water Fitness and Adaptive Jazzercise to address the specific fitness needs and abilities of the people we serve. We also have a Choir lead by a local music instructor that meets twice a month and performs around the city. Our newest program developed with Circus Mojo teaches participants to spin plates, juggle scarves, balance feathers, and goof off dramatically while building self-esteem.

Vacations

We believe that everyone needs a break from the ordinary, so we provide each person who is interested with the option to take a vacation filled with new experiences and extraordinary sights. We take time to talk to each person and find out what his or her interests are and ensure everyone receives a vacation tailored to their wants and needs. The activities and destinations are planned and staffed around the people going. We feel that everyone needs something special to look forward to. No matter where we go, we create memories that last a lifetime.

Some vacations are large, group vacations to "Make Dreams Come True" in Disney World, "Have Perfect Days" at Kennedy Space Center, or "Stretch the Limits of our Imaginations" on an Alaskan Cruise. Others are smaller vacations and receive "Two Thumbs Up" at Dollywood or help us to "Discover New Things" at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. No matter what a person’s preference, we can plan a vacation to meet their needs.
